Love is in the Air…

21 01 2011

Happy Friday! I love Friday so much ever since I was a little kid. I wanted to share some of my favorite things today…

This would make a wonderful gift, “I LOVE YOU BEST” antique tablespoon from Hammerman on Etsy.

I am totally  in love with Drucilla’s blog and her Etsy shop Drucillapettibone. I love her hand embroidered animal prints and her butterfly wing pendant.

These superhero shoes from Smallfly would be perfect with the superhero cape I’m making Jett for Valentine’s Day:)

This fox necklace from Odette New York is so sweet.

Vintage Valentines (come see some amazing ones at our store).

Crocheted hearts by Kara.

Handmade Valentine’s Cards. Of course Martha Stewart has a million ideas.

Francois the Accordion Playing Cat would make any sofa more comfy.

What are some things you are loving this week?

Have a wonderful weekend. And remember national pie day is Sunday!

Love, Rebecca

I’m sweet on you Valentine

8 02 2010

Its easy to get a little gooey at the knees when looking at vintage valentines. I especially love the ones that have been given before. I like to think about Elaine who gave George a Valentine that says “I’m Strong for you and I’ll Prove it too! My Valentine is You!” in the 1950s. George could have been Elaine’s first crush. So timeless!

Wee Wonderful

29 01 2010

I have been trying to be extra crafty and when I ran into this cute pattern from Wee Wonderful I had to buy it. The gnome pattern reminded me of Jett’s first Halloween when he dressed up like a garden gnome. The pattern was so easy to understand with step by step instructions. I am a big fan of applique and really enjoyed that part of the project.

I used felted wool for the front and cotton canvas for the back. I found some cute green vintage buttons for the eyes.

This would be a wonderful valentine to make for that magical little one in your life. Or you could print out pattern and but together some vintage fabric and buttons as a sweet gift for a special crafty friend.

Have a wonderful day!

I found this great blog,  Urban Weeds:Street Style From Portland. I love the photography and the style of each person featured. Many of the featured people are designers that have really interesting ideas. One example is Sarai, Owner of Colette Patterns.

“These patterns are designed to be made into clothes that you will love forever. They are timeless, beautiful designs that can be made in a variety of fabrics to suit the season. They are wearable, practical, and pretty.”
