I am so excited about the new book by Kayte Terry Applique’ Your Way!

My New Favorite Craft Book

My New Favorite Craft Book

I am a big fan of Applique’ and am always looking for new ideas. This book has 35 great projects. Usually you find ideas about applique’ in quilt books but this book offers great ideas for clothes, shoes, pillows, dog blanket, coasters, and much more. I just got mine in the mail; the photographs and layout are wonderful. I know I am going to have to give a few of these away for gifts.

Kayte Terry has a wonderful blog that I love to check out weekly called Love Forever. I became a fan of hers after my sister gave me her book Complete Embellishing for Christmas.

Always try to buy your books locally if you can. I am going to try to talk Jenny into carrying it at Nested.

Walk Carrboro was featured on Carolina Weekend this past weekend, including a snippet interview with Kara.
Walk Carrboro is a local merchants association that we are part of.  The video is a bit cheesy but fun.

This is the perfect time of year for a great scarf. You can tie on in your hair, to keep the wind off as you travel around town, you can add one around  your waist to give that summer dress added color, you can drape it over your lamp in the evening for ambiance, and you can use it to wrap up a special gift.

Come in and check out our scarves. Mention this post and get 20% off any scarf!

I absolutely love this dress. You can never go wrong with lace and roses.  The pattern just makes me think of spring, hill tops, and picnics. This would be a great dress for a romantic afternoon filled with champagne, strawberries, and your favorite old cowboy boots.

We wanted to thank everyone who came out to our DIY/Crafter Sale this past weekend. It was a huge success and we’re now planning to make it bi-annual sale.

We’ll also be keeping vintage patterns out all the time now, so if you’re into sewing from patterns, stop by and check ours out.
