We heart The Carrboro Artisan Market! October 12, 2009

I guess we should love the Carrboro Artisan Market, since we started it with Sarah McLane.  But the actual event was so much fun that we love it more than we expected to.  All of the artisans were amazing, and so many people came out.  It takes more than a misty grey day to keep Carrboro away from hand crafted goods!

It was so much fun that we’re going to do it again in November!  The actual date will be announced soon.  You can check out all the great vendors at the Carrboro Artisan Market website and check out it’s photo album on Flickr.

We’ve posted new pics of our booth on our Flickr, and we’re now carrying craft bundles, vintage button cards and vintage linens at the store.  If you too have a weakness for vintage fabrics and notions, you should come by and check them out.   You can geek out with me and Rebecca about all the cool things to do with a button or a pillowcase.

Its time for our 2^nd annual DIY/Crafter Sale!

Friday, August 7 (A Special Preview Sale: 20% off all DIY Sale items)

12 PM – 6 PM

If you aren’t quite sure what DIY means, it stands for Do It Yourself, an Arts and Crafts movement that focuses on local artists and the creative recycling of materials into art and goods.  DIY is a great way to recycle and re-use fabric and clothes.

We think that all vintage clothing and accessories deserve a second chance.  In the course of buying for the store, we come across a lot of items that need extra TLC but are so great that we can not resist them.  We know that there are others out there who like to fix up and recreate vintage just as much as we do, so we decided to share our bounty.

If you like to craft, can sew on a button, or just have a great seamstress, we think you’ll enjoy looking through all the clothing, accessories, fabric, patterns, do-dads and buttons that are going to be on sale.

Get your Tropic On! July 26, 2009

We’ll be celebrating 4 years of Roulette Vintage with a Party on Sunday, August 2nd!    1-4 PM

This year’s party theme is Tropical Island!  So get your outfit ready!  We’ll have prizes for the best ones.  Wear anything that makes you think of island breezes, Hawaii, the Caribbean, Pirates, Sailors, parrots, palm trees…fruit.
Or just come as you are and get your tropicon with some tropical punch!

We’ll also have some snacks, Island Punch, Games and more!  Hope to see you there!

Monsonia rocks Roulette June 21, 2009

One of our favorite bands, Monsonia, recorded two songs for their upcoming album at Roulette Vintage last weekend.  The sound was big and dark and loud and rocking!  We’re  really looking forward to hearing the album!

Revamp’s Fashion Walk June 8, 2009

We’ll be hosting the Revamp summer runway collection of evening dresses and day wear with an opening on Friday June 12th from 7pm to 10pm, during Carrboro’s monthly Art Walk.
These one-of-a-kind pieces by Revamp designer Jamie Powell were recently featured as the finale of Raleigh Fashion Week, and will be available exclusively at Roulette Vintage from June 12th to 30th.

We’re really excited about all of Jamie’s new fashion, especially the scarf dresses that twirl so beautifully!  Come enjoy an evening of fashion, drinks, and homemade treats with us and Jamie this Friday.  We’d love to see all of you there!

Carrboro Day May 13, 2009

      

The Roulette Crew was rocking the Carrboro bike tee by Flytrap on Carrboro Day. 

     

Jett was able to visit the fire trucks and even got to sit in one. I have never seen him happier  He also got  to sit in the garbage truck and hang out on the golf cart style work vehicle. The joy of being a boy in love with trucks.
